The New Laos eVisa Is Now Available

Situated at the heart of the Indochinese peninsula, Laos is a diverse tropical country with an exciting range of natural and cultural attractions to visit. And it has just gotten much easier to travel to the country to take in all of its many delights.

The new electronic visa for Laos has been launched on July 9th, 2019, and it has eliminated the need to go to an embassy or consulate to apply for a visa to visit Laos.

Citizens of 180 eligible countries can apply online for the visa for Laos in a matter of minutes. The Laos eVisa allows travelers to the enter the country for periods of up to 30 consecutive days for purposes of tourism. It is a single entry online visa valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

Laos eVisa Application Process Launched

The Laos eVisa application is quick and straightforward to complete. Applicants just need to complete the online form by entering a range of information such as their name, date of birth, passport details, and travel plans.

After the application form has been completed it is necessary to pay a visa fee using a credit or debit card. Applicants are advised to apply for their eVisa  Approval letter at least 7 days before they travel to Laos. Most applications take 3 business days to process.

Any inaccurate answers given can lead to an application not being approved. To avoid delays or possible rejections, applicants should carefully enter and revise all the information they enter.

 

Traveling with the Laos eVisa

Once an application has been approved, the Laos Tourist eVisa is sent to the applicant electronically. Visitors can enter Laos by presenting their eVisa and their passport on arrival.

The new eVisa for Laos saves time at the border, as well as during the application process, as travelers have already been pre-screened by the authorities.

It is crucial that the details on the Laos electronic visa match those of the passport exactly. Applicants with two passports should bear in mind that the passport used to enter Laos must be same as the one used for the visa application.
