The government of Laos does not maintain an embassy in every country, and this can be problematic for travelers looking to visit the country for tourism. To counter the accessibility issues around obtaining a visa for Laos, the government of Laos has now introduced the Laos eVisa Approval Letter, which makes it easier for travelers from 150 countries to obtain a Laos visa online. This new Laos eVisa Approval Letter can be obtained in a matter of days by entering all the required information online and uploading the required documents.
Laos eVisa for Swiss Citizens
Switzerland is among the list of 150 countries that have agreements with the Laos government allowing their citizens to obtain the Loas eVisa Approval Letter in order to travel to the country. Swiss travelers can greatly benefit from applying for the Laos eVisa as it will cut down the time that is required to obtain a visa as well as the time required for paperwork processing upon arrival in Laos. It also allows them to skip having to go through a Laos embassy or consulate in order to obtain the travel authorizations they need.
Since the Laos eVisa is designed to allow short stays in the country not exceeding 30 consecutive days, Swiss travelers may want to consider applying for other types of visas especially if they are interested in staying longer in Laos. Depending on the type of visa they are seeking, Swiss citizens may have to fulfill certain visa-related application requirements. These requirements are specific to each visa type and therefore, must be carefully studied before beginning the application process.
