Taiwanese citizens are among the citizens of 150 countries worldwide who are allowed to apply for a Laos eVisa. The Laos eVisa is an electronic travel authorization that allows travelers from these countries to obtain a visa to Laos in a quicker and efficient manner by directly entering the necessary information online. This also eliminates the need for these travelers to visit a local Laos embassy or Consulate in order to obtain a visa. Instead, travelers can apply for the eVisa online from their home or office and receive the Laos eVisa electronically via email.
Travelers should note that although the Laos eVisa allows for a single entry into Laos and a maximum stay of 30 days in the country, they do have the option of applying for other types of Laos tourist visas. Travelers who require multiple entries or those who wish to stay longer than 30 days in the country will need to apply for a regular Laos visa from an embassy or consulate. Travelers may also need to apply for a different type of visa if they plan to enter the country from a point of entry that is not allowed on the Laos eVisa. Therefore, traveler should look through the different types of visas available to them through the government of Laos and select one that best suits their travel plans.
Currently, travelers arriving in Laos on a Laos eVisa are only allowed entry into the country from one of two points of entry:
- Wattay International Airport (Vientiane Capital)
- Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I (Vientiane Capital)
- Luang Prabang International Airport (Luang Prabang Province)
- Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge II (Savanakhet Province)
- Pakse International Airport (Champasack Province)
